Job Description Where You Will Work 8DE - High Risk Postpartum, is an 18 bed Postpartum/GYN unit. Our nurse-to-patient Ratio is 1:4.5 yet is adjusted based on the level of acuity. Our unit provides obstetrical and Gynecological care to females from adolescence through older adult with multicultural backgrounds. Inpatient care is provided twenty-four hours a day. Care is provided to patients admitted with acute obstetrical and/or surgical conditions. Patient types consist of postpartum mothers with medical complications that require an increased level of care after a vaginal or c-section delivery. Early gestation patients may be admitted to the unit for medical complications. Gynecological diagnoses consist of hysterectomy, exploratory laparotomy, fetal demise, ectopic pregnancies, and post urology procedures.
Expectations We’re Looking For Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates. Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire. At least 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred. What You’ll Do As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
