1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, browsing, or using any portion of JobQuill ("Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an entity or organization, you represent that you have legal authority to bind that entity. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use JobQuill.

2. Description of Service

JobQuill provides a comprehensive commercial Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed for job search organization, application tracking, interview and calendar scheduling, resume content optimization, and AI-assisted workflow tools. We reserve the right to continuously enhance, update, or modify features of the Service to improve user experience.

3. Account Creation & Security

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use JobQuill.
  • Account Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account details updated.
  • Credential Confidentiality: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials, password, and session tokens.
  • Security Incidents: You must immediately notify JobQuill support (support@jobquill.app) of any suspected unauthorized access or compromise of your credentials.

4. Subscription Plans, Stripe Payment Handling & Renewals

JobQuill offers free tier access as well as paid subscription tiers ("Pro", "Premium", or "Enterprise").

  • Payment Processing via Stripe: All billing, subscription management, and credit card processing are handled securely by our third-party payment partner, Stripe, Inc. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize JobQuill and Stripe to bill your chosen payment method on a recurring basis.
  • Automatic Recurring Billing: Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly, or every six months on the 6-month plan) unless you cancel your subscription prior to the renewal date.
  • Tier Adjustments & Upgrades: Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges. Downgrades take effect at the conclusion of the current billing cycle.
  • Fee Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will be communicated to active subscribers at least 30 days in advance.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Subscription Cancellation: You may cancel or downgrade your subscription at any time directly through your Billing settings page. Upon cancellation, your paid access will remain active until the end of your prepaid billing period.
  • Refund Policy: Subscription payments are non-refundable, except where explicitly required by applicable law, or at our sole discretion in cases of verified billing errors.
  • Free Trial: Paid plans begin with a 14 day free trial. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you are never charged.

6. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all data, resume documents, application notes, and personal content uploaded or created by you on JobQuill ("User Content").

  • License to Host: You grant JobQuill a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license solely to host, process, format, and display your User Content to operate the Service for you.
  • JobQuill IP: All trademarks, logos, code, UI design systems, brand assets, algorithms, and software comprising JobQuill remain the exclusive intellectual property of JobQuill.
  • Feedback: Any feedback or feature suggestions submitted to JobQuill may be used without restriction or compensation to you.

7. Acceptable Use & Conduct Guidelines

You agree not to use JobQuill to:

  • Violate any local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or underlying AI models of JobQuill.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malicious code, or conduct automated scraping or denial-of-service attacks.
  • Bypass access controls, rate limits, subscription paywalls, or feature quotas.
  • Share account credentials or resell access to unauthorized third parties.

Violation of acceptable use rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

8. Quill Apply Browser Extension & AI-Generated Content

Quill Apply is an optional browser extension that fills application forms, saves postings, and drafts text using your JobQuill account. By installing it you agree to the following:

  • You are the applicant: Everything the extension fills in or drafts is a convenience. You are responsible for reviewing every field, answer, cover letter, and message before it is submitted, and for the accuracy of what you submit to an employer. AI-generated text can be wrong, and it is presented for your review, never sent on your behalf.
  • Third-party sites: You must comply with the terms of the job boards, applicant tracking systems, and employer sites you use the extension on. JobQuill is not responsible for those sites, for changes they make that affect the extension, or for any account action they take.
  • No guarantee of fit or outcome: Form detection, field matching, and resume match indicators are best-effort estimates built from the page in front of you. They are not a promise that a form was filled completely, that an application was received, or that you will be contacted.
  • Fair use of AI features: AI answers, cover letters, and outreach notes are metered per day. Automating or scripting the extension to exceed those limits, or using it to submit applications you did not personally review, is a breach of these Terms.
  • Updates and removal: We may update, limit, or discontinue extension features at any time. You can remove the extension through your browser, which deletes everything it stores locally.

9. Termination & Account Closure

You may close your account at any time via account settings or by requesting deletion. JobQuill reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, remain inactive for extended periods, or pose security risks. Upon account termination, your right to access the Service immediately ceases, and your data will be purged in accordance with our Data Retention and Privacy Policy.

10. Service Availability & Disclaimers

JobQuill is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for 99.9% service uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or specific career/job application outcomes. JobQuill is an organizational productivity tool and does not guarantee job offers, interview callbacks, or employment placement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JobQuill and its officers, employees, suppliers, or partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of data, profit, goodwill, or employment opportunities) arising out of or related to your use of the Service. In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed the total amount paid by you to JobQuill in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the federal or state courts located in California.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material updates will be communicated via email or notification banner at least 15 days before taking effect. Continued use of JobQuill after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
