Job Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to work alongside our manufacturing engineering team on impactful, project-based assignments that improve how we build and deliver our autonomous service vessels. You will be involved in real-world manufacturing challenges at the intersection of robotics, defense, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in hands-on projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and processes
- Conduct time studies and analyze production workflows
- Support floor organization and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Design and implement light tooling or fixtures to assist in assembly or fabrication
- Analyze and improve manufacturing data and documentation systems
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and fabrication teams
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in hands-on manufacturing and process improvement
- Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
- Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- This role requires full-time in office presence (40 hours/week) based at our headquarters in Austin, TX, from May through August 2027
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional standing and walking within the office
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
