Job Description
The Floor Care Tech performs floor care tasks according to detailed instruction and maintains the facility in a sanitary, safe, clean, and attractive environment to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. This position also performs general housekeeping duties as assigned. Position Details:
- Pay Rate : Depending on experience
Eligible for 10% shift differential due to working Swing Shift.
- Shift Details: Full-time (40 hrs/wk) EVERY Sunday - Thursday (2:30pm - 11:00pm). Will include rotating holidays.
- Location: Primary Children's Taylorsville Environmental Services Dept.
- Additional Details: Previous Floor Care experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
- Demonstrated professional floor care experience. (Preferred)
Essential Functions
- Provides maintenance to hard surface floors by stripping, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and re-finishing according to procedure.
- Provides maintenance to carpeted floors by vacuuming, extracting, and performing spot removal.
- Uses cleaning and floor chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Operates and maintains assigned equipment according to established procedures
- Handles equipment maintenance needs including reporting problems with equipment and facility timely and appropriately.
- Performs general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
