About the Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Named Account Executive to join our Swiss Sales Team, focused on the German-speaking market. In this senior role, your primary mission is new logo acquisition — identifying, pursuing, and closing net-new strategic enterprise accounts across German-speaking Switzerland — while also driving deep platform adoption and expansion within a defined portfolio of existing accounts. The ideal candidate possesses a sophisticated blend of enterprise sales expertise, executive presence, and genuine technical fluency, enabling them to lead engagements at all levels, from the C-suite to senior technical leaders including CISOs, CTOs, and Heads of Infrastructure.
As a Named Account Executive, you will own your account portfolio end-to-end. You will build multi-year account plans, orchestrate virtual deal teams across Solution Engineers, Deal Desk, Legal, and Product, and position Cloudflare as a critical long-term platform partner for some of Switzerland's most strategic enterprises. You will engage at board and executive level, lead complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles, and consistently exceed new logo and expansion targets. In line with Cloudflare's AI-native culture, you will be expected to leverage AI tools actively in your daily workflow — from prospect research and executive outreach to account planning, meeting preparation, and pipeline management — using them as a genuine force multiplier, not an afterthought.
Responsibilities
New Logo Acquisition : Drive the identification, pursuit, and closure of net-new strategic enterprise accounts as the primary focus of this role. Build a robust pipeline of high-value prospects through targeted executive outreach, ecosystem engagement, partner channels, and referrals. Consistently bring new logos onto the Cloudflare platform and exceed new business targets each quarter.
Strategic Account Planning : Develop and execute comprehensive, multi-year account plans for both net-new targets and existing named accounts, with clear prioritisation of new logo opportunities. Maintain a detailed, current view of each account's strategic priorities, buying processes, competitive landscape, and Cloudflare's position within them.
Executive Relationship Management : Build and sustain long-term, trusted relationships at CISO, CTO, CIO, and board level. Act as a genuine strategic advisor across the full lifecycle of the relationship — bringing proactive insight and a strong point of view, not just responding to RFPs or renewal triggers.
Complex Sales Cycle Leadership : Lead sophisticated, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales processes across legal, procurement, technical, and executive buying centres simultaneously. Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of enterprise buying behaviour and apply it to drive net-new deals forward with precision and appropriate urgency.
Deep Customer & IT Architecture Understanding : Develop a thorough understanding of each prospect's and customer's technology environment — including cloud strategy, security posture, compliance requirements, and AI and ML infrastructure. Map Cloudflare's platform capabilities to these environments through relevant Reference Architectures, driving comprehensive platform adoption in place of point-solution sales.
Virtual Deal Team Leadership : Set clear direction and lead a virtual team of Customer Engineers, Product Managers, Deal Desk, and Legal to manage and close complex, high-value opportunities. Proactively navigate blockers, maintain deal momentum, and ensure a consistently high-quality customer and prospect experience throughout.
AI-Powered Sales Execution : Leverage AI tools as a deliberate and consistent part of how you sell — applying them to prospect research, personalised executive outreach, account planning, stakeholder mapping, meeting preparation, pipeline analysis, and follow-up. Demonstrate the same AI-native mindset Cloudflare brings to its products in how you manage your own territory and time.
Digital Transformation & AI Positioning : Serve as a knowledgeable and credible partner to customers navigating digital and AI-driven transformation. Understand how AI adoption is reshaping enterprise infrastructure, compliance, and competitive dynamics — and position Cloudflare's platform capabilities, including AI Gateway, Workers AI, and Zero Trust for AI workloads, as central to your customers' strategy.
Expert Pipeline & Forecasting : Deliver highly accurate, insight-driven account-level forecasts to sales leadership. Maintain rigorous pipeline management across long and complex enterprise sales cycles, providing clear and honest visibility into deal status, risks, and required actions at all times.
Advanced Negotiation & Closure : Lead complex contract negotiations with confidence and expertise, constructing compelling outcome-linked value propositions directly tied to each customer's strategic objectives. Drive commercially strong and sustainable outcomes across new logo and expansion opportunities.
Trusted Advisor & Organisational Contribution : Share knowledge, field intelligence, and best practices openly across the team. Provide constructive guidance to colleagues, contribute to the wider organisation's understanding of the Swiss enterprise market, and serve as a leader who elevates the work of those around them.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
6+ years of advanced experience selling complex technology solutions in a B2B enterprise model , with a significant track record of consistently exceeding multi-million dollar new logo and quota targets in a named or strategic account model.
Proven enterprise hunter — a demonstrated track record of opening and closing large, complex net-new accounts at C-suite level, not just managing and growing existing relationships.
Deep expertise and fluency in Cloud Networking, Security (Zero Trust, SASE, SSE), and Edge Computing technologies, with the ability to engage credibly with senior technical buyers including CISOs, CTOs, and Heads of Infrastructure.
Proven ability to deeply understand complex customer IT architectures and effectively map them to Cloudflare Reference Architectures for successful platform sales.
